Planet Rose has been known for forward thinking club nights in Nijmegen for decades, and this anniversary marks the beginning of a new phase in which the focus returns to the roots. At a time when algorithms increasingly shape nightlife and experimentation is under pressure, new space is opening up for headstrong creators, bedroom producers with fresh ideas, and new audiences eager for discovery. The edition on 31 January therefore ushers in a period of more intimate club nights where quality takes centre stage and new music is brought back to the forefront, as 2026 promises to be a hot year.
For this anniversary, a line up is brought to Nijmegen that sharply defines the future of techno. SHDW, the mind behind Mutual Rytm and one of the driving forces in today’s techno sound, is known for sets packed with exclusives and unreleased gems that constantly push the dancefloor forward. ANNĒ joins as one of the most striking techno producers and DJs of the moment, with a flow so propulsive and precise that getting carried away is inevitable. The night opens with Jancen, who is making waves this year with multiple releases on Len Faki’s label, and with Zeronine, Planet Rose’s own resident who is knocking loudly with his first record on Balans. Together, this line up forms a long, immersive journey through techno in its purest form, full of driving kicks, groovy snares and perfectly placed claps. Planet Rose turns 31, and that milestone is marked in Doornroosje with a night that brings the genre back to its core.
