Primitive Ring
The debut album of power trio Primitive Ring comes out in May 2026. In 2027, they will go out on their very first European tour, which includes a visit to Merleyn.
Primitive Ring consists of Charles Moothart (guitar/vocals), Bert Hoover (bass/vocals), and Jon Modaff (drums). This Los Angeles band was founded in September 2024 when Moothart and Hoover were looking for a new creative outlet.
You may recognize the versatile musician Moothart as a member of FUZZ, Ty Segall’s band and of GØGGS, where he takes care of vocals, guitar and drums. Ben Hoover and Jon Modaff both play in Hooveriii.
The band released four 7-inch singles in 2025 on four different labels (Greenway, In the Red, Reverberation Appreciation Society and Fuzz Club). They’ve played a lot in the local LA circuit to hone their sound. Primitive Ring quickly realized one thing: it’s all about rock ‘n roll.
In the Summer of 2026, their friends from King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are taking them on tour throughout the United States. They bring take this experience with them to Nijmegen in 2027!
