Blues and soul singer and guitarist Robert Finley grew up in Louisiana and has been playing guitar since he was eleven years old. He was raised on gospel and blues music from a very young age and that’s audible in his music. From the seventies on, when he started an army band during his time in military service, he’s had quite a life in music that brought him a lot.
Robert Finley is blessed with a warm and pleasant voice. He can effortlessly switch from falsetto to bariton, from high to low. Before he broke through as a solo artist, he played in a number of bands, toured all over the world and played on the streets as a busker part-time. In 2015, Finley was rediscovered by an organization that supports aged blues musicians, which led to a collaboration with Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. In 2016 he released – at the age of 62! – his debut album “Age Don’t Mean a Thing”. With the help of one of his biggest fans, Dan Auerbach, he has been working on tons more music. This resulted in follow-up albums “Sharecropper’s Son” and “Goin’ Platinum!”. The Black Keys brought him along on tour and ever since then, he has been building an audience in Europe as well.
