American-Canadian singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright is one of the most important songwriters of the current era. His brilliant mix of theatrical pop, vaudeville jazz and folk music brings him to the biggest stages of the world.
Wainwright is a favorite of some of the biggest artists in the world. According to Sting his music is ‘timeless’, with Elton John calling him ‘the greatest songwriter on the planet’. With a huge passion for opera and classical music he bridges the gap to the classical world quite often as well. His album “Unfollow the Rules” came out in 2020 and is a beautiful musical journey, full of gorgeous melodies and harmonies. This album is the perfect showcase of his creativity and versatility. Tonight, he’ll perform in Concertgebouw De Vereeniging with a full band in tow. Next to the songs of his latest record we expect to hear some of his biggest hits as well.
