Grammy-nominated country folk singer, songwriter and producer Sean McConnell from Nashville had no trouble staying active creatively during the pandemic. While for many artists sources of inspiration seemed to dry up altogether, McConnell didn’t just write albums for four other artists, he also released one of his own.
“A Horrible Beautiful Dream” is already his eighth studio album. One of his goals with this album was to reflect the chaotic times during its making, yet still result in a timeless record. He investigates both the fragility and the power of the human spirit through philosophical lyrics, his crystal-clear vocals and nostalgia-inducing melodies. Sean wrote songs in the past for artists like Christina Aguilera, Michael Franti, Brett Young (including his double platinum hit ‘Mercy’), Tim McGraw, Brothers Osborne, and Ashley Ray.
