German producer and musician Shantel is the pioneer and driving force behind the Balkan hype that came up in the zeroes and still doesn’t show any signs of stopping. Together with his up-beat backing band, he is coming back to Nijmegen in 2026 to throw a party in Doornroosje.
With his mega hit ‘Disko Partizani’ of the album with the same name, Shantel took Balkan beats to the mainstream in 2007. The catchy mix of wild polkas, traditional Slavic music, Yiddish klezmer, Ottoman Čoček and some electronic influences never fails to make the audience reach fever pitch. Together with his exciting band Bucovina Club Soundsystem, we are expecting this to happen once more tonight.
