Chicago-based postpunk quartet Stuck has risen from the ashes of Yeesh and Clearance.
Their debut album “Change Is Bad” came out in 2020 and was a powerful combination of the intense and highly skilled guitar-playing and alienating vocals of front man Greg Obis, tight drums of Tim Green, and groovy bass lines of David Algrims. The lyrics of Obis are socially critical and anti-capitalist, dealing with digital capitalism like the ‘like culture’ as well. In 2022, the second album entitled “Freak Frequency” came out which received a lot of praise. Stuck’s music is strongly influenced by bands like Devo, Parquet Courts, Mission of Burma and Protomartyr. Stuck is part of a new wave of postpunk bands from the United States that also includes Snõõper and Deeper.
