Don’t be alarmed by the name of The Lounge Society, as The Hermes House Band doesn’t play house music and The Pop Group is not a pop band. The Lounge Society offers a refreshing and pleasant mix of psychedelic rock, post-punk, garage punk, electronics and punk funk.
Soon their debut album “Tired of Liberty” will come out through PIAS. The album was recorded in the Fall of 2021 with Dan Carey as its producer. He was also responsible for the first productions and releases – on his own Speedy Wunderground label – of bands like Squid, Black Midi, PVA, Fontaines D.C. and Black Country, New Road.
The British quartet has a very clear sound of their own, just like the aforementioned bands: the surprising, unpredictable sound of Black Midi but also the vicious and edgy sounds of bands like Squid and PVA. The Lounge Society consists of Cameron Davey (vocals, bass), Herbie May (guitar), Hani Paskin-Hussain (guitar) and Archie Dewis (drums).
