The Soft Moon produces dark, mesmerizing tracks that bring new life to the sounds of bands like Joy Division, Bauhaus and Suicide. Kraut, new wave post-punk and shoegaze are all present within their sound, that’s raw, dark and intense.
The Soft Moon is a project of the San Francisco based Luis Vasquez. His influences are firmly rooted in the eighties with acts like Joy Division, The Cure and Suicide. The big drums, whirling synths, alarm sounds and intense vocal lines all lead to an intense mix of post-punk and darkwave. On the most recent album “Criminal” this sound is encapsulated in ten perfunctorily and tight songs. The Soft Moon has played festivals like Down the Rabbit Hole, Le Guess Who and Valkhof Festival in the past. Live Vasquez is joined on stage by a band that can make the synths screech. Lose yourself in a mesmerizing show full of reverb, feedback and dark lyrics.
This year a new album will come out, one that will very likely once again appeal to fans of Crystal Castles, A Place to Bury Strangers or Esben and the Witch.
Support act is PYRIT from Switzerland. Based on his love for electronics, dark wave and kraut, PYRIT creates songs and soundscapes from a futuristic world.
