The Third Sound is a project of Iceland musician Hákon Aðalsteinsson, best known from The Brian Jonestown Massacre. From his home base in Berlin, together with his band he creates an intriguing mix of psychedelic rock, post-punk and melancholy new wave.
The music of The Third Sound feels like a journey: engaging, suspenseful and layered – perfect for listeners that seek depth without losing strong melodies in the process. Since the band was founded, The Third Sound have been making a name for themselves in the international underground circuit. With six albums to their name – including the most recent one, “Most Perfect Solitude” – they have been developing constantly without losing their identity as a band in the process. The Berlin quartet manages to translate this sound to the live stage effortlessly as well. Live shows have a meditative, almost hypnotizing quality to them, with their trademark subdued intensity being injected with a large dose of raw energy every now and then.
