Cardiff band The Tubs mix indie rock, noise pop and rock with traditional British folk and nineties post-punk. The Tubs rose from the ashes of noise pop band Joanna Gruesome.
The remarkable voice of singer Owen ‘O’ Williams has been compared by the British press with that of a young Richard Thompson and of a young, Jam-era Paul Weller. The guitar playing of George Nicholls and Dan Lucas remind us of Johnny Marr’s jangle guitar; a comparison with The Smiths is not that strange.
The band is a big fan of Bob Mould, something you can hear in their work as well.
Highly recommended to fans of The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys and the aforementioned artists.
