The Veils
Cinematic pop rock band The Veils is coming back to Doornroosje with their upcoming album “Fragile World”. It is a strong statement and a brave step forward compared to earlier work, especially to recent album “Asphodels”.
Creative mastermind behind The Veils is charismatic, New-Zealand-based front man Finn Andrews who is sometimes reminiscent of a younger version of John Cale or Nick Cave. The lyrics and diction of Andrews are often drenched in melancholy. It is not that strange that film directors David Lynch and Tim Burton used some of the band’s work for their films. The success started with their debut album “The Runaway Found”. Early 2025, the band released their successful album “Asphodels”, which was named after the Greek flower that grows in the underworld and for which the band found inspiration in poetry.
A concert of the band is often an extraordinary and intense experience that will stick with you for a long time afterwards.
