thrown is the new band of former Grieves vocalist Marcus Lundqvist. He is accompanied by Johan Liljeblad and Andreas Malm on guitars, and Buster Odeholm on drums. Debut EP “Extended Pain” consists of five songs and takes just 11 minutes. Those minutes are well-spent however; the moment drummer Buster (of Vildhjarta and Humanity’s Last Breath) starts to attack his kit, and the larger-than-life riffs and angry vocals enter the fore, then you know you’re in for a treat. thrown is on the darker, heavier side of modern-day hardcore/metalcore and features extremely heavy breakdowns.

Since then, the band from Stockholm has been releasing new singles, all of which have come with visuals courtesy of Lucas Englund, known for his work for Parkway Drive and Architects. Check for example the ruthless video for the song ‘guilt’. It’s a perfect recipe for success, even if thrown’s music is best experienced live. Before the band hits bigger stages, they will play a show in Merleyn, the perfect stage for mosh pits and experiencing pure visceral energy.

It’s up to Half Me to open the night. The German band offers a powerful, aggressive mix of hardcore, metalcore and even a whiff of nu-metal.
