The queer post-punkers of THUS LOVE, hailing from Vermont, released their debut album “Memorial” last October. The band isn’t afraid to deal with themes that are heavy, intimate and fragile. At the same time, they have a sound that combines post-punk with an eclectic and experimental edge to it that’s unique.
Armed with pink hair, poetic lyrics and a fantastic DIY mentality, THUS LOVE seems to be the perfect band for a new generation that loves guitar music as an antidote. The DIY mentality isn’t just a matter of ethics to the band; it also reflects their presence as three self-identifying trans artists.
Their debut album “Memorial” came out through Captured Tracks (DIIV, The Soft Moon and Osees, among others). Influences from Bauhaus and Joy Division are never far away, but THUS LOVE has a unique style of their own. The band previously toured with bands like Viagra Boys and Shame. They are also heading out on tour in February and March 2023 with Dry Cleaning in the UK and Ireland, but before that’s taking place, we’ll have a chance to see them in Merleyn.
