Trees Speak
Trees Speak is without a doubt one of the most productive and creative acts in recent years. Their instrumental music consists of krautrock, post-punk, psych rock, space rock, no wave and electronics. It’s music for fans of ‘cosmic trip music’ like John Carpenter, Silver Apples, CAN, Tangerine Dream, Cluster, Neu!, and Harmonia.
The American band consists of brothers Daniel Martin Diaz and Damian Diaz. They are inspired by the magic of the direct surroundings in Tucson, Arizona and its extended desert landscapes. They combine this imagery with their love and fascination for technology, nature and cosmic constellations.
Their debut came out in 2017 and the British Soul Jazz label releases two albums in 2020 (“Shadow Forms” and “OHMS”) and two more in 2021 (“Posthuman” and “Vertigo of Flaws”). A new album will come out in 2022. Highly recommended to fans of the aforementioned acts, as well as of SUUNS, Minami Deutsch and BEAK>. An interesting titbit is that Daniel Martin designs all artwork and sleeves himself.
