The original intention of this Auckland, New Zealand trio was to create dark death metal with deep layers, which gradually developed into an innovative, nuanced approach in which atmospheric elements come together with technical ingenuity. Every single one of their albums released so far have been praised universally because of the unique and fascinating mix of emotions and crushing bleakness. The most recent album “Cutting the Throat of God” from 2024 is once again a dizzying piece of art and an absolute highlight in Ulcerate’s career. It also proves that the trio is now one of the leading bands in the modern extreme metal scene. Their performance at Soulcrusher 2024 left everyone dumbfounded: with unprecedented precision, they played an overwhelming show. We are very happy to welcome back the band for a headline show.
