Abbath + VLTIMAS + 1349 + Nuclear
Yet another extreme metal package to look forward to: Abbath, VLTIMAS and 1349 are coming to Doornroosje on Saturday 25 January for an exclusive Dutch club show. This is going to something you cannot afford to miss if you’re a connaisseur of the extreme arts.
Abbath Doom Occulta shocked the metal scene to its core when he decided to leave Immortal, a band that the singer/vocalist founded himself. After that it was time for a new project. With bassist King ov Hell (former God Seed, Gorgoroth) and drummer ‘Creature’ he founded a new black metal band called Abbath. In 2016 they released their self-titled debut through the Nuclear Blast label, which was very well received by the international media. Abbath unleashes itself as a Northern snow storm and manages to chill you to your bones. After shows at FortaRock, Alcatraz and Graspop the band returns to Nijmegen with a brand new album for an exclusive performance! Expect furious blasts, epic mid tempo pieces and the usual quality riffs. This is insolent black metal drenched in a heavy rock & roll sauce.
VLTIMAS is the new super project of Rune Eriksen, better known as Blasphemer of Aura Noir and Mayhem. Together with David Vincent of Morbid Angel and Flo Mournier, drummer of Cryptopsy, he has released a very impressive new album. “Something Wicked Marches In” is a metal record that will appeal to fans of both death metal and black metal: ice cold Scandinavian black metal riffs are combined with the familiar force of death metal. It all seems to fit together within VLTIMAS. These men demonstrate that they’re still a force to be reckoned with in 2019.
The Norwegian black metal band 1349 has been delivering quality output for many years: pure, intense black metal that is brought in excellent song structures, with razor-sharp, distorted riffs and phenomenal drums. The latter is not that much of a surprise with Frost of Satyricon behind the drumkit, of course. Their new album is about to be released.
