Alogte Oho and his Sounds of Joy

Alogte Oho is one of the most important new musicians of Ghanaian music of the past few years. His debut album came out in 2007 and with the release of his third album in 2012 he broke through in his home country of Ghana. The music consists of a slowly rocking, grooving trip deep into the world of Frafra-Gospel.

Shortly thereafter he was discovered by the label founder of Philophon Records who heard the single ‘Mam Yinne Wa’ when visiting Ghana; he was immediately intrigued by Alogte Oho’s voice. The two went into the studio with the impressive singers Lizzy Amaliyenga, Patricia Adongo and Florence Adooni van Sounds of Joy. You can hear the result for yourself on the album “Mam Yinne Wa” (see the link below). Alogte preaches positivity and peace with his Frafra gospel music: both live and on his record a blessing.
