Ane Brun
Ane Brun from Norway plays passionate songs, supporting herself on guitar. With her intimate, melancholy music, sometimes with glimmers of the darkness of long, Scandinavian winters, the singer-songwriter is capable of silencing any audience.
Ane Brun taught herself to play the guitar as a student. Once she had mastered songs of Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake, among others, she decided to write her own songs. She has been active for over twenty years now, as per successful debut album “Spending Time With Morgan” already came out in 2003. She has released ten studio albums since then and received a lot of praise for her live performances.
In 2023, her new album Nærmere came out. For the very first time, Brun sings in her native tongue. Whether she sings her own material in Norwegian or English however, or decides to cover songs by Beyoncé or Cyndi Lauper: her unique voice is always familiar.
