The Modfather is coming back to Nijmegen for a show in Doornroosje.
British musician Paul Weller has been successful during the seventies with The Jam, during the eighties with The Style Council and from the nineties on as a solo artist. The English press regards him as the man who reinvigorated the Britpop genre.
Paul Weller is one of the most influential pop artists around and was nicknamed ‘The Modfather’ by the Britpop generation. Blur, Oasis and Arctic Monkeys see him as a massive source of inspiration. Weller had major hits like ‘Wild Wood’, ‘You Do Something to Me’ and ‘The Changingman’ and released twelve solo albums, including the widely successful “Stanley Road”.
Nowadays, Weller has been known to puts some of his hits with The Jam in The Style Council in his setlists. Recent years have been quite fruitful for Weller; he wrote the soundtrack for the movie “Jawbone” and released the album “A Kind Revolution”. Paul Weller offers an evening of high quality British pop music.
