Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever

The Rolling Blackouts did not disappoint with their new album “Sideways to New Italy”. Previously, the three songwriters and musicians of the band were mostly focused on the world around them and the increasing uncertainty about the future. Their latest album on the other hand focuses more on themes related to personal experiences. Because of the massive success of predecessor “Hope Downs”, the band yearned for more stability and security.

The new songs are about “pure romantic fiction”; the album title is named after the tiny village where drummer Marcel Tussie came from. All in all, “Sideways to New Italy” is more of an album than their debut, not just a collection of quality songs. There are journalists that would swear it’s only a matter of time before this band will sell out venues like AFAS Live and even the Ziggodome.
