The White Buffalo + Didirri
The White Buffalo is a revelation within the contemporary roots, country, folk and blues rock genre. After his impressive and sold out show from last year he once again returns to Doornroosje’s biggest hall.
Behind the moniker of The White Buffalo is the impressive physique of bearded musician Jacob A. Smith. The American has a beautiful baritone voice that has earned him comparisons with Eddie Vedder and Bruce Springsteen. As The White Buffalo Smith operates in the field somewhere in between dark folk, country soul and blues rock. This wide spectrum of styles is a consequence of the musical diet of his younger years: he grew up with both the traditional country of George Jones and with the punk rock of Bad Religion.
Smith hasn’t been home for over ten years. The endless travelling pays off: his audience is growing, his popularity is on the rise and his songs have been picked up in popular television shows like Californication and Sons Of Anarchy. Smith went into the studio with no pre-written songs for his most recent album “Darkest Days, Lightest Lights” (2017); six weeks later the album was ready.
