Every December, the one-day festival Zeitgeist takes over Doornroosje in Nijmegen for a genre-blurring celebration of “what’s next”.

We’re proud to stand at the crib of new, ground breaking, potential earth shattering and truly “Zeitgeist” acts. Underground or not-so underground, we invite the artists that shake the foundations of the post-punk, wave, electronic and experimental genres to show us what makes them the best. Previous editions saw unforgettable performances from artists like Black Country, New Road, shame, DITZ, Geordie Greep, Maruja, and Lambrini Girls.

This year Zeitgeist takes places on the 6th of December.

Scroll down for the latest updates on the line-up.

Timetables will be available somewhere in November.

Doornroosje opens its doors at 14:00 and last act will be done around 00:30

Every edition of Zeitgeist, we invite one act back for a well-deserved encore. This year, that honour goes to Lambrini Girls. After tearing the roof off the purple stage in 2023, they return foul-mouthed and gay as ever.

Known for empowering the marginalized through their raw, lightning-fast post-punk, Lambrini Girls turn every set into a sweaty, barking spectacle. Terrifying drums, thunderous basslines and Phoebe’s razor-sharp vocals and guitar work are the driving force behind their legendary live shows. Chaotic, confrontational, and gloriously unfiltered. These are the kinds of gigs where the line between crowd and band disappears in a whirlwind of limbs, scream-laughing, and pure release.

Their return to Zeitgeist promises another round of cathartic, mosh-pit-inducing punk that’s as thought-provoking as it is exhilarating.

Many will know DEADLETTER for already tearing down multiple stages around their towns with their all swinging, all dancing mania.

Hailed as one of the latest post-punk sensations of today with, at the time, only just a few singles out. Their debut album, Hysterial Strength was a smash hit and promises and bright future for the South London rooted 6-piece.

Songs about the dark side of living, political satire with hints to (pop) culture, philosophy and film. DEADLETTER is organised chaos, wielding tambourine, terrifying guitarriffs, threatening bass, and saxophone.

In 1942, the U.S. Pentecostal Church built a robot preacher to replace pastors at war. After a software update installed the Litronix program, it began pushing pharmaceuticals mid-sermon. Post-war, it was shut down and buried in the Nevada desert.
Decades later, unearthed during hotel construction, Litronix reawakened… Still fully functional. It walked to L.A., fused its spiritual code with 4500 hypnosis files, rejected all government offers, and began recording music.

Zeitgeist is next on its missionary list.

Alan Duggan Borges is known for his guitar work in the legendary Irish noise/post-punk outfit Gilla Band. The Null Club is the solo/collaborative project of Alan and features many talented musicians, like ELUCID (Armand Hammer), Faris Badwan (The Horrors) & Valentine Caufield (Mandy, Indiana).

The release of the self-titled EP at the beginning of April promises us an intense post-something blend of techno, noise, rock and ambient. The EP was mixed by Gilla Band’s Daniel Fox and mastered by Jamie Hyland (M(h)aol). All instrumentals were performed by and recorded by Duggan Borges, in his home and a rehearsal studio in Dublin.

Pain Magazine is the feral collision between post-hardcore veterans Birds in Row and industrial techno duo Maelstrom & Louisahhh. Born from a ‘let’s see what happens’ studio session in the dead of winter, evolved from a single track into an entire album written over the course of just sixteen days.

The first song produced has thus become the first single, and the title track of the album ‘Violent God’ that will be released later this year. Perhaps this first tune is in which separate parties’ influences are most evident, Violent God combines the heavy, raucous instrumentals of Birds in Row with the focused, machine-driven sensibilities for which Maelstrom is known and Louisahhh’s unhinged roaring.

Lyrically straddling the line between worship and blame, victim and villain. This is noise with purpose. More intensity, more fury.

A stage filled with synths and sample pads can only mean one thing: there will be dancing. Adult DVD delivers infectious hooks and grooves together with an euphoric live show that could be mistaken for a club night.

Whether tapping into their love for chorus centric indie or the influence of acid house floor  fillers, their core appeal remains consistent: undeniable humour; bold, danceable instrumentals; and instantly memorable songwriting. It seems the Leeds based 6-piece already know their way around The Netherlands and we can’t wait to welcome them at Zeitgeist.

The Pill tackle life’s most irritating moments head-on. From your scaffolder catching you naked to the tragedy of being too blonde, their “jank punk” turns daily girlie struggles into tasteful chaotic jams. With Lily and Lottie on vocals, guitar and bass, and Rufus on drums, The Pill are bringing their glorious “bimbo punk” to Zeitgeist.

Josy Basar blends the delicate power of the French chanson with lo-fi synthpop, crafting minimalist electronic music made for both the head and the dancefloor. Crying in the club never sounded this beautiful. Inspired by rural East-French landscapes, bleak commercial zones and the glow of a village hall, Josy’s sound nods to Kraftwerk, Grauzone and Molly Nilsson while carving out something entirely unique of his own.

Like the cracked out lovechild of Drs P and blackmidi, Grote Geelstaart have proven in just a very short time they’re the counter-attack to the ever expanding Dutch punk scene. These five young men hailing from the Dutch province of Zeeland create a unique noise rock blend that’s reminiscent of an illegal drag race. Two drummers raise the tempo and as the bass stutters like a cocking machine gun the crowd is whipped into a frenzy of shouts and whispers. As the two drummers turn into two guitarists, rectangular synths and robotic voices fill the room. Sharp left turn, reverse, burn rubber. Grote Geelstaart is behind the wheel and you’re along for the ride.

Mandy, Indiana’s chaotic yet precise noise blur the line between gig and exorcism. Think dystopian sci-fi, warehouse rave and post-punk colliding at full speed, leaving you dazed and exhilarated. Drawing on a broad sonic palette of experimental noise music, from drum machine snaps to white noise, sprung synths and pulsing bass to lo-fi scuff. Vocalist Valentine Caulfield delivers French lyrics that balance fairytale and fury, biting through walls of distortion.

It’s pronounced ‘CLIT DRIP’ if you were wondering.

CLT DRP is straight up adrenaline. This three-piece from Brighton doesn’t deal in half measures: once the bass drops, you’re swallowed by a tsunami of electro-punk. Both raw and refined, heavy enough to bruise and sharp enough to cut.

Rotterdam’s newest addition to the underground: Fellatio. Somewhere on the edge of Fat White Family and Fat Dog, this trio is quickly becoming a feverish experience of fuzzy, droney and overall danceable live sensation. Self-coined “post-penis kraut pop disco punk”, this trio is sure to get you moving.

Call it nederwave, minimal synth or electro, but Raderkraft is probably best described as raw, hard, and dangerously danceable.

Music nerds, take note: Raderkraft’s obsession with vintage synths and drum machines, paired with a strong DIY ethos, has taken him across Europe with a string of standout releases and performances. Cold, cutting electro meets the catchy hooks and 80s punk energy, all breaking through genre boundaries.

Shaemless is no stranger to Nijmegen. The Dutch three-piece are carving out their own gritty blend of post-punk and garage, taking cues from bands like The Jesus Lizard and The Birthday Party. Their upcoming second album, recorded and produced by Daniel Fox (Gilla Band) at Sonic Studios in Dublin, dives deeper into darker and noisier territory while keeping that signature raw energy alive.

With their first single dropping at the end of 2025, Zeitgeist will be among the very first to experience the new Shaemless era.

Hondenfokker is the all barking, flea-scratching Dutch live sensation. A chaotic cocktail of electronic beats, shredding guitars, unhinged vocal improvisations and guilty pleasure melodies. Think sweat-soaked basements, distorted synths, howling vocals and glitchy rebellion. Leaving you somewhere between a confused golden retriever and a pitbull foaming at the mouth.

Hondenfokker’s debut release: NIMBY is an EP brewed in chaos, quirks, angst, and love for the dancefloor.

Another; Country $$$$ are a Manchester-based interdisciplinary duo ready to twist your senses. Expect something completely different: a live music and film project blending archival post-club collages, liminal heavy pop, hopecore breaks and distorted UKG. Comparable to the likes of Lander & Adriaan, and with their latest EP released on Spinny Nights (Lynks, Robbie & Mona, Nukuluk), Another; Country $$$$ is a treat for both ears and eyes.

With their fiery, psychedelic live shows, Eosine have quickly become one of the most exciting acts to emerge from the French-speaking part of Belgium. Drawing from the dreamlike haze of shoegaze, their sound drifts through progressive song structures, angelic harmonies and heartfelt melodies. Somewhere between Lush, My Bloody Valentine and Psychotic Monks, Eosine’s world is as hypnotic as it is explosive.
