For the past five years, Ghent-based band RHEA has been demonstrating that rock ‘n roll is still alive and kicking. The band makes rock music in the slipstream of acts like Royal Blood, Reignwolf, cleopatrick and Wolfmother. They have opened up their sound now and have added a slice of funk, groovy bass licks, a Hammond organ and wah-wah pedals to it.
Hard-rocking yet smooth guitar riffs, and complicated yet loud songs are this band’s specialty. And just as important: they manage to translate their skills to intense live shows. RHEA is part of a new wave of young Belgian rock bands that also includes Ramkot and Hideous.
