A gorgeous double-bill tonight with Wolvennest and (DOLCH). Both acts set themselves apart through their suspenseful and layered compositions. Styles like doom, krautrock, psychedelia, new wave and drones come together in foreboding songs.
In their ten-year existence, Belgian band Wolvennest have managed to create a unique sound of their own that’s dark, psychedelic, mesmerizing and engaging. The band doesn’t stick to a single genre, but experiments a lot with different styles and sounds. This results in engaging songs that are both dark and meditative. Live shows are like a familiar, warm blanket.
The music of Berlin duo (DOLCH) is characterized by their unique fusion of dark rock, doom, gothic rock, pop and ambient. This results in repetitive, mesmerizing songs that are both chilly and intimate, partly due to the intriguing vocals. There are elements from bands like Slowdive, Dead Can Dance, Cocteau Twins and Fields of the Nephilim in their sound. The albums “Feuer” (2019) and “Nacht” (2022) are part of a triptych; final part “Tod” is expected to come out soon. We are very curious about this new one.
Opening tonight is Double Darkness from Brussels. This duo offers of mix of gothic, industrial, dark minimal wave and dark post-punk.
