Vtoroi Ka is one of the up-and-comers in the post-punk scene and originally hail from Bichkek, Kyrgyzstan. The band was founded by secondary school students Sultan and Ilya. On stage, they are joined by a drummer and a bassist. Their music is a unique mix of post-punk, cold wave, electronic pop and a whiff of irony.
The band had underground success with their first two studio albums: the hip hop-minded “Dependence Day” (2020) and the more eclectic “Serial” (2022). On their third album “Piggy Ride”, released by Infinity Records in 2023, the band connects the boundaries of Kyrgyzstan with eleven dynamic tracks that innovate the literary style of refined post-punk.
Their fanbase is mostly in Central Asia and Russia, but they have found more and more international success through the strong vibes of their music. On their first European tour, they will come to Nijmegen on Sunday 9 November. Recommended to fans of acts like Molchat Doma, Lebanon Hanover, Baxter Dury and Ploho.
