Benjamin Ankomah, a Dutch artist with Ghanaian roots, grew up in Amsterdam-Zuidoost. He faced the challenges of his youth by developing a passion for music. At Church he taught himself piano, drums and guitar. He also discovered that he had a gift for writing and producing music, too.
bnnyhunna has worked together with Akwasi, Rimon, (Yung Nnelg) and the American top vocalist José James. The 28-yea-rold multi-instrumentalist released his much-praised debut album “Echoes of Prayers” in 2024. Musically speaking, he finds inspiration in the West-African afrobeat of Fela Kuti, the melodious raps of Pharrell Williams and the funk jazz from the hippest suburbs in London. His boundary-pushing compositions, that also incorporate poetry, photography and video, brought him to festivals like North Sea Jazz, Down the Rabbit Hole and Valkhof Festival. Tonight, bnnyhunna is going to be in Doornroosje with his band to promote his latest album.
