Jehnny Beth is a French creative multi-talent that expanded her musical horizon in 2020 with her solo debut album “To Love is to Live”. She started as part of duo John & Jehn, made a name for herself as the charismatic front woman of iconic band Savages, and continues to offer a barrage of energy, intense vocals and a rebel urgency.
Jehnny Beth is the moniker of French-born Camille Berghomier. Together with Johnny Hostile, she played at Valkhof Festival as John & Jehn. A few years later, she returned to play the same festival with Savages. With that iconic band, she played a number of intense live performances with poetic darkness, making an impact both in concert venues and on festival stages.
Her solo work contains daring, diverse and deep compositions. Since her solo debut, Jehn Beth has been collaborating a lot with others, including with Gorillaz, Sextile, IDLES and Bobby Gillespie.
On her latest record “You Heartbreaker, You”, she worked together again with Johnny Hostile, resulting in an urgent, rebellious and empowering record, full of fierce vocals instinct-led lyrics and uncompromising production.
This night in Doornroosje, Jehnny Beth will perform with a live band. Support will be none other than Belgian punk rock band Maria Iskariot. Highly recommended to fans of Kae Tempest, The Murder Capital, IDLES and (of course) Savages.
