Eivør

With ten studio albums to her name, as well as artists like Àsgeir and Lana Del Rey, Eivør is recognized as one of the most eclectic Scandinavian artists and most interesting singers of the moment. She received the Nordic Council Music Prize in 2021 and also won the Icelandic Musi Prize, the Danish Music Folk Awards and the Faroese Music Award. Eivør’s music is deeply rooted in old cultural folklore and the occult. Her back catalogue has been streamed almost a billion times and she has gone on sold-out tours in Scandinavia, Europe and the USA.

Since 1999, she has been a member of Faroese rock band Clickhaze, but she decided to go solo under the name Eivør as well. Musically, she gets close to Kate Bush at times, to Zola Jesus at others, often mixed with influences from traditional Faroese music. Her song ‘So Close to Being Free’ was used in the trailer of Season 4 of Game of Thrones; for the BBC Series “The Last Kingdom”, she wrote the soundtrack.

She is often regarded as one of the most prolific and unique Nordic artists of her generation. Eivør has released 11 studio albums to date, which have her cross into multiple genres and pushing the boundaries of what’s expected.
