Jeremy Pinnell broke though in 2014 with his debut album “OH / KY”. Until his eighteenth, his ambition was limited to singing in the local church and to get a grip on the guitar chords taught by his father. As a young adult, he left his safe family life and had his first encounter with hard living, a world in which sleazy bars, cheap drinks and rock ‘n roll set the tone for a hard-boiled life. Self-pity, regret and loneliness are themes that feature heavily in Pinnell’s work.
Pinnell’s music is a mix of classic country, gospel, blues and honky-tonk, with some influences from rockabilly and gospel.
In 2025, he released his well-received album “Decades”, on which he brought raw vocals, whiffs of country, and blues and rockabilly arrangements together. The album was released and produced by three times Grammy Award winning producer/singer-songwriter Shooter Jennings.
“Decades” was recorded with Jennings during a week of live performances in the studio. Musicians that worked on the album include Chris Masterson (Steve Earle), Ted Russell Kamp (Shooter Jennings), Patrick Keeler (The Raconteurs) and John Schreffler (Duff McKagan).
