DOOM GONG

The musical laborary of these seven passionate music school nerds is rooted in technique and chaos. It results in a unique style that they jokingly refer to as “denimpsych”. DOOM GONG combines virtuosity with absurdist flair. Each song is like a mini-universe of its own: whimsical, thoughtful, but also full of energy and spontaneity. There is just as much conservatory discipline in their rhythms as there is bedroom chaos in their production. One moment they sound like Supersister, the next as if they are jamming with King Gizzard. Armed with knowledge, creativity and a DIY spirit, DOOM GONG manages to bridge the gaps between genres, generations and thought processes in a natural way.

The Americans know how to translate this energy to the stage with tremendous ease; just watch their recent KEXP session as exhibit A. The band also shared stages with acts like Amyl and the Sniffers, The Black Angels, BADBADNOTGOOD, Allah-Las, King Buffalo, Bass Drum of Death, Death Valley Girls, HOLY WAVE and Gustaf.
