Loreena McKennitt
Canadian singer/musician Loreena McKennitt has been selling out concert venues worldwide for years with her unique blend of Celtic and Middle Eastern music. She is sometimes compared to Irish singer Enya, but musically, vocally, and lyrically, McKennitt covers a much broader range. She rarely writes autobiographically; instead, she prefers to draw from the works of Shakespeare or the history of the Celts.
Her breakthrough album, “The Visit”, was released in 1991, for which she won a Juno Award (Canada’s most prestigious music award). With this album, she also established her name internationally among an audience that does not shy away from kitsch, but embraces her pure and sincere music.
In 2021, her tenth album, “Lost Souls”, was released. This was her first record with new material since An Ancient Muse (2006). Few singers can evoke as many emotions with their voice as Loreena McKennitt can.
