For over 40 years, The Jayhawks have been making music that oozes with the soul of classic American song writing. They started in the post-punk era in Minneapolis, where bands like The Replacements, Hüsker Dü, and Soul Asylum were celebrating success. They were pioneers in serving up their unique blend of country, folk, soul, Britpop, and rock ‘n roll to the rock audience of that time.
The band has played at almost every major music festival; from Farm Aid to Primavera Sound, from Pinkpop to Wilco’s Sky Blue Sky. Like The Band and Tommy Petty & The Heartbreakers, The Jayhawks have toured as a backing band for greats such as Ray Davies, Roger McGuinn, and Johnny Cash.
The band has over 12 studio albums to their name, yet Gary Louris, Marc Perlman, Karen Grotberg, and Tim O’Reagan continue to record new music and tour worldwide. The Jayhawks have once again collaborated with legendary producer Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, Lou Reed) on their upcoming album “Sanctuary Park”, which will be released in late summer 2026.
