J. Bernardt
J. Bernardt is the solo project of Jinte Deprez (best known from the band Balthazar, among other projects). He is releasing new music, so that means a new tour! The single ‘Four in The Morning’ is the precursor to the new album, with which J. Bernardt will be coming to Doornroosje in December.
‘Four In The Morning’ is the first release since 2024 and marks a new phase in which J. Bernardt’s music evolves into a fully-fledged, independent world with its own trajectory and ambition.
Jinte recorded the new music in L.A., in effect breaking free from his familiar surroundings. He collaborated there with producer Paul Butler (of Michael Kiwanuka and Devendra Banhart, among others), who created an intuitive environment in which Jinte found his freest voice. Butler’s exuberant production style and the uninhibited energy of L.A. color J. Bernardt’s new album. The result is music that retains J. Bernardt’s recognizable signature, but also sounds more playful and reckless.
