The Haunted Youth
The Haunted Youth, the band fronted by 29-year-old Joachim Liebens, has rapidly grown into one of the figureheads of the Belgian alternative music scene. The Haunted Youth creates indie rock steeped in fragments of psychedelic rock, grunge, punk, new wave, and shoegaze. With songs that explore the weight of life, wrapped in dreamy guitars and layered synths, Liebens manages to touch a broad audience.
The music of The Haunted Youth acts as therapy, both for Joachim himself and for his listeners. Every single hits the mark, and his debut album “Dawn Of The Freak” is embraced by many fans and critics.
Four years after the debut, the brand-new album “Boys Cry Too” was released on May 8, 2026. On this new album, the band once again demonstrates their class in terms of good songs, grandeur, and hit potential. In a confronting yet magnificent rollercoaster, all eleven tracks feature dark titles such as ‘Deathwish’, ‘Hurt’, ‘Murder Me’, and ‘Falling To Pieces’. The Haunted Youth manages to give sadness, pain, and frustrations a place and, more importantly, to make music out of it.
