English post punk band And Also the Trees, known for their engaging live performances, unique style suggestive lyrics and dark jazz rhythms, is still alive and kicking after over 15 albums. The band will take their brand-new album “The Devil’s Door” to Doornroosje in the fall!
And Also the Trees was founded in 1979, during the birth of the post punk era, in Worcestershire. From the very start, the band had a great connection with The Cure, with whom they played together and collaborated. And Also the Trees was founded by singer Simon Huw Jones and guitarist Justin Jones. Both ensure the band is a constant presence within the international post punk and alternative music scene.
The band is known for their compelling live performances. The musical recipe is familiar and mostly untouched, but And Also the Trees do spend a lot of time in the studio and on stage to hone their sound. The half-sung lyrics over carefully timed guitar parts sound refined and organic.
And Also the Trees released their new album “The Devil’s Door” on 26 February 2026. This raw, yet beautiful gem is recommended to fans of sombre, timeless songs, the kind that acts like The Cure, Killing Joke, Cocteau Twins, Tindersticks and Nick Cave tend to make.
