Canadian guitarist and singer-songwriter Ariel Posen is not easy to pigeonhole. His rootsy sound takes elements from blues and R&B as well as from melodious rock ‘n roll and blue-eyed soul. After a career as a member of roots rock band The Bros. Landreth he is now striking out as a solo artist.
With his well-received solo debut “How Long” (2019) he made a name for himself in the roots scene. Successor “Headway” came out recently, on which the singer-songwriter makes an overview of his personal and musical progression. We hear a musician on this new record that managed to come into his own to the fullest. The American magazine Rolling Stone even called him a “modern-day guitar hero”.
