The Irish powerhouses of And So I Watch You From Afar and the American post-rock formation Caspian join forces for a co-headline tour. On 20 October, Doornroosje will be the setting of this excellent double-bill.
And So I Watch You From Afar from Belfast manages to bring together post-rock, math rock and pure live energy almost effortlessly. The inspired riffs and tight rhythms sound like a cross between Aerogramme, Battles, Mogwai, NoMeansNo and 65daysofstatic: eccentric, dynamic and full of emotion, all without needing even a single word of lyrics. Since the band was founded, they have been building up an iron-clad reputation because o their impressive live shows and their uncompromising, adventurous sound.
With their heavenly soundscapes and emotional compositions, Caspian manages to create an atmosphere just as unique as their Irish peers. The music of this band from Beverly, Massachusetts rises up like a storm: from intimate, melancholy guitar lines to all-encompassing crescendos. Without vocals, the band bridges the gap between introspection and explosive dynamic without effort. Just like ASIWYFA, Caspian has a loyal fan base that swear by their epic, cinematic post-rock. This is a must-see for fans of Explosions in the Sky, Russian Circles, MONO and the aforementioned acts.
