Twenty years ago, Band of Horses released their debut album “Everything All the Time” through legendary quality label Sub Pop Records. The band is going out on tour for this special occasion. One of their performances will be in Doornroosje!
The voice of front man, singer and guitarist Ben Bridwell is like a warm bath. Musically speaking, the band is like a mixture of Wayne Coyne, Neil Young and Doug Martsch. “Everything All the Time” contains powerful songs: slow-paced at times, delicate, exciting and full of hope. With this album, the band immediately broke through, laying the groundwork for a successful and lasting career.
Debut album “Everything All the Time” (2006) introduced their engaging, emotionally resonating sound; the albums that followed ensured their spot in the indie rock canon. They have released six studio albums in total, including “Infinite Arms” (2010), which earned them a Grammy nomination. On their most recent album “Things Are Great” (2022), we see a band that’s reclaiming the raw emotion and unpolished punk rock spirit of their debut.
Band of Horses can be listed in the same breath as other successful American rock bands, like My Morning Jacket, Death Cab for Cutie, The Decemberists and The Shins.
