Antwerp collective blackwave. is a hip hop duo consisting of producer Willem Ardui and rapper Jay Walker. The band have been making waves with their terrific nineties hip hop grooves and beats inspired by The Roots, Brockhampton and Parliament-Funkadelic.
Since the band had been founded in 2017, they have been doing very well in their home country of Belgium: three successful albums, collabs with Benny Sings, Yellowstraps and K1D (among others) and shows at Werchter, Pukkelpop and more. They have been crossing the border into the Netherlands more often and in an increasingly more successful manner as well, and we understand why. Live the duo is accompanied by a full band that manages to capture the jazzy funk of the record to an energetic live experience that’s essential.
