Coheed and Cambria
Coheed and Cambria is a band that is hard to describe. Ever since the band was founded, they have developed into one of the figureheads within the progressive rock scene. The band is known for their mix of progressive rock, alternative rock and post-hardcore, combined with an eye-catching conceptual approach.
Basically, all of their albums are concepts, part of the epic science fiction story “The Armory Wars”, written by front man Claudio Sanchez. This universe is not just present on the albums, but also in comics and novels, which helps create a deep bond with their fans.
The dynamic songs are marked by technical skills, complex compositions and engaging melodies. Sanchez’s characteristic voice, the inventive guitar lines of Travis Stever, the kinetic drum work of Josh Eppard and the solid bass of Zach Cooper are part of a unique whole that continues to surprise. Their live shows are just as good as well. Coheed and Cambria is highly recommended to fans of acts like The Mars Volta, Karnivool, Haken, Thrice and Dream Theater.
