Floodlights
With their sold-out debut EP “Backyard” (2019) and the universally praised album “From a View” (2020), Floodlights have quickly made a name for themselves in the Australian music scene and beyond. The band has played numerous sold-out shows and festivals in their own country since then, sharing stages with acts like Amyl and The Sniffers and Arctic Monkeys.
In 2023, they toured Australia as support of Pavement and Black Midi. They also made an appearance on the influential showcase festival SXSW in Texas, USA. This was followed by an extensive tour through the United Kingdom and Europe, performing at festivals like Green Man and End of the Road. They also presented their latest album “Painting of My Time” there, which was nominated for the Australian Music Prize.
Floodlights is known for their intense live shows that are both raw and intimate, full of carefully built tension arcs and driving rhythms. The band combines personal lyrics with a unique, layered sound. Since the very start, Floodlights have dealt with themes like inner unrest, national identity and the Australian landscape as a form of escapism. “Painting of My Time” marks a new chapter in which these themes are explored even more and the band’s evolving sound is on display.
