Garrett T. Capps & NASA Country
Just like Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kacey Musgraves, Garrett T. Capps and his band NASA Country hail from the state of Texas, offering a twist of their own to roots and country music. Capps comes from San Antonio, the city in which for example Doug Sahm found his Texas groove. Capps is one of the most interesting figures in the genre at the moment. Both in the studio and live, he is able to come up with a personal interpretation that fits in with the cosmic country sound once launched by Gram Parsons.
Tonight, he will be accompanied by his NASA Country band, so prepare yourself for a beautiful mix of classic country, raw rock & roll, futuristic space Americana and synthesizer-led kraut rock like honkey tonk. Capps sings about the paranoia within politics and the dark side of these times. Despite the heavy themes, his music isn’t a downer though: Capps is in essence a very positive and happy person. As Rolling Stone magazine once wrote:
