Geordie Greep made a name for himself as the front man of black midi and opens up his musical world even further with The New Sound. His 2024 solo debut sounds like a free and daring exploration of everything music can be.

In his work, alternative pop, jazz-funk, rock, Latin influences, and theatrical narratives collide. Brass, polyrhythms, backing vocals, and erratic bass lines create a sound that constantly shifts colour. Greep moves effortlessly between the brilliant and the absurd, between tightly composed forms and moments that seem to almost fly off the rails.

For The New Sound, he worked with more than thirty session musicians on two continents. This open way of working suits an artist who uses freedom not as a stylistic device, but as a starting point. The result is music that feels both carefully composed and raw. Bold, whimsical, and full of unbridled creativity.

KNOBIL
KNOBIL is the project of double bassist, singer, and composer Louise Knobil. She invites you into a world where jazz, punk, glitter, and French chanson merge with sparkling, daring energy.

Inspired by icons such as Esperanza Spalding, Charles Mingus, and Boris Vian, this rising star of Swiss jazz turns her diary into a musical adventure. Polyamory, chronic insomnia, and pesto recipes come together in compositions that are simultaneously personal and universal.

Her mischievous melodies, in which double bass and vocals come together, gain extra intensity thanks to an unusual line-up of her loyal “knodisciples”: Chloé Marsigny on bass clarinet and effects, and Vincent Andreae on drums.
