Grandmas House is a punk trio from Bristol that consists of Yasmin Berndt (vocals, guitar), Poppy Dodgson (vocals, drums), and Zoe Zinsmeister (bass). The band was founded in 2018 and quickly started to make waves in the Bristol music scene.

In 2021, Grandmas House was labelled “one of the most promising bands from Bristol at the moment” by Jack Saunders of Radio 1. They also received praise from Steve Lamacq on BBC 6Music, and from DIY, Dork, Upset and more.

Grandmas House combine their love for post-punk with surf-inspired melodies, creating a sound that grabs you by the throat. Known for their raw guitar riffs, pounding bass lines, aggressive drums and dead-pan lyrics, the band is compared to acts like Courtney Barnett, The Slits and Motörhead. They have shared stages with the likes of IDLES, Katy J Pearson, The Blinders and TV Priest before.

On their debut EP, the band explores themes like anti-establishment and anti-patriarchal ideals, as well as the highs and lows of queer love. All of it is presented with a playful dose of cheekiness and irony.

A debut album is one the way and will see the light this spring. Highly recommended to fans of Porridge Radio, Lambrini Girls and the aforementioned bands.
