Jenny Don’t and The Spurs come from Portland, Oregon. Their members have a past in punk and garage bands, like Pierced Arrows/formerly Dead Moon, The Wipers and P.R.O.B.L.E.M.S. They have just released their third album as a hardcore honky tonk band.
That third release is called “Fire on the Ridge” (2021) and it turned out to be an excellent new entry that could set any venue ablaze. Jenny Don’t has a voice that is reminiscent of Patsy Cline’s and Grey DeLisle’s. The songs go from tearjerker ballads (‘Friday Night’) to cow punk like up-tempo rockabilly (‘Train Ticket’). The tight rhythm section consists of Kelly Halliburton (bass) and Buddy Weeks (drums), which is the solid core of the Spurs sound. A star role is played by lead guitarist Christopher March however. who is a rockabilly and honky tonk veteran with a tremendous sound. In 2023, Jenny Don’t and The Spurs played their first shows in Europe. This time they are back with a new record in tow, expected somewhere in June.
