The German rockers of Kadavar are known for their explosive live performances and a unique mix of retro hardcore and psychedelic vibes, as was demonstrated at their fiery headline show at Sonic Whip 2024. With their heavy riffs, mesmerizing grooves and a bit of seventies nostalgia, Kadavar is capable of creating a timeless sound.
Their latest album came out in 2020, the era of quarantines and working from home. The record was appropriately titled “The Isolation Tapes” and is a fantastic project that showcased a wider, more open sound than before with more room for build-ups and depth. After five years of waiting, the band is back with new work, with ‘I Just Want to Be a Sound’ as the first single. We are looking forward to hearing the full album!
Hailing from Bergen, Norway, Slomosa translates the vastness of their surroundings in a unique mix of engaging stoner rock riffs, gritty hooks and a focused punk energy. Heavy distortion crashes into larger-than-life melodies: Slomosa are justifiably seen as a rising star in the Norwegian rock scene.
ORB from Australia offers a unique mix of fuzz-driven riffs, cosmic synths and experimental grooves, heavily inspired by music from the late sixties and early seventies. Think of early psychedelic Pink Floyd combined with the heaviness of Black Sabbath. The band has been on successful tours supporting King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard in the past, but hasn’t played any shows since the Covid era. So tonight will be something of a first!
