Mamas Gun, named after the Erykah Badu album with the same title, is a five-piece band led by singer, composer and producer Andy Platts. You may recognize the name from his other project, Young Gun Silver Fox. Rising from the turbulence of the past two years, the fifth album of the UK-based soul group Mamas Gun is finally here: an energetic, nuanced and contemporary meditation on a world gone mad, embedded in classic soul.
This mix of classic and modern influences led to massive streaming airplay worldwide and a lot of praise from publications like The Sunday Times, The Guardian, and Uncut Magazine. In 2008 the band debuted with single ‘Pots of Gold’. Two years later, their debut album “Road to Riches” led to a definitive breakthrough. The band consists of Andy Platts (vocals), Terry Lewis (guitar), Dave Oliver (keys), Chris Boot (drums) and Cameron Dawson (drums).
