In February, Marlon Pichel will kick off his long-awaited club tour in his home town of Rotterdam to promote his new album “Took You to the Movies”. The tour will take him to seven venues in total, including Doornroosje.
This versatile musician from Rotterdam effortlessly moves between soul and rock ‘n roll. As a singing drummer with rhythmic virtuosity and a raw, soulful voice, Marlon managed to obtain a prominent spot in the Dutch music scene in a very short time. In 2025, he brough his energetic seven-piece band to more than 35 festivals, offering audiences a slice of the glory days of soul and rock ‘n roll.
The stars are aligned for him: Marlon received a lot of attention on radio and TV (Radio Veronica, Radio 538, VPRO On Stage with Ilse DeLange, RTL Late Night with Humberto Tan), he signed with PDM (Danny Vera’s label), collaborated with Excelsior and Friendly Fire, and he completely sold out his first tour. His work has received tons of praise.
His latest album was recorded by using the authentic Stax Records blueprint from the late sixties. The result: a timeless sound that’s both classic, powerful and strikingly refreshing. With this tour, Marlon Pichel is confirming his status as “The Upcoming King of Rock & Soul”.
