Singer-singer-songwriter Nick Mulvey debuted in 2014 with “First Mind”, an album full of catchy indie folk songs that contain a dose of melancholy as well. In June, the Englishman will perform at Openluchttheater De Goffert.
Nick Mulvey isn’t bound by genres: before he went solo, he was in instrumental jazz band Portico Quartet, with whom he released two albums. On his solo records we can fortunately hear his pleasant voice, which does remind us a bit of Nick Drake’s. In 2017, his second album “Wake Up Now” came out. Textually a bit more serious, musically more swinging that his debut, with a lot of Latin and African influences. His third album “A New Mythology” was full of beautiful guitar-driven indie folk songs.
